Entering Device Settings (the unlock gesture)
Purpose: Open the hidden Device Settings panel on the handheld.
When to use this: Almost every other handheld task starts here, switching workstations, changing modes, resetting the reader, pushing offline transactions, and changing settings all begin by opening Device Settings. There is no button for it on the main screen; you open it with a gesture.
The gesture
From the app's main/logo screen, do this quickly, all three within about 3 seconds:
- Swipe right to the middle of the screen.
- Swipe left back to the middle of the screen.
- Immediately tap the center Vitabyte logo.
The Device Settings panel opens.
Swipe right to the middle, swipe left back to the middle, then tap the logo, fast.
The whole sequence has to happen in a few seconds. If you're too slow, nothing happens and the screen stays locked, just start over.
If the device is in Checks mode
In Checks mode (tableside / pull-and-pay) the gesture is different: long-press the faint "…" in the bottom-left corner of the screen until Device Settings opens.
Verify
The Device Settings panel appears. The top shows the bound Workstation, the Device id, and the IP.
